THE BRIEF
The clients, a young couple who approached us with a single wish — a space that feels like a deep breath. In response, the idea of Sazen was born: a monochromatic haven rooted in restraint, without loud accents or unnecessary gestures. Instead, focus is placed on the stillness within. As such, a meditative experience takes shape in the home.
THE SPACE
With restraint being the central idea of the space, design gestures are quietly introduced to give the space a deeply personal character. At first glance, they are not apparent but upon closer immersion, they make all the difference. From delicate stainless steel strips wedged between deep charcoal wood shelves in the bespoke cabinetry, to the concealment of storage throughout the home to give a rituals a setting of stillness orm dissolves into comfort. Sazen seeks no attention; it offers it back to its dwellers in stillness, in space, and in breath.
