COLLECTED IN TIME

TEMBUSU GRAND

THE BRIEF

The design began from the idea of creating an environment for the clients and their lively dog, Loki, where life becomes richer over the years. Instead of a fixed decorative theme, inspiration was drawn from the relaxed domesticity of Australian cabin living, the craftsmanship and human scale of Danish mid-century design, and the restraint of Japanese mid-century interiors.

THE SPACE

The aforementioned influences are not reproduced literally; instead, the design establishes a quiet architectural framework that allows furniture, art, books, memories and objects to naturally accumulate over time. Its material language is honest and grounded in longevity, introducing character through natural grain, joinery and contrast between hard and soft surfaces. The architecture remains silent, allowing the homeowners’ lives become the visual focus.

The home's most definitive feature is its ability to conceal complexity. Behind its calm interior lies an extensive layer of storage, a full suite of smart home technology and a surround sound system present throughout the space. As such, technology is experienced through sound, film and convenience, instead of visual clutter, supporting its users’ lives without demanding attention.

Collected In Time is not designed to look complete on the day it is finished. Rather, it is designed to grow into completion over the years.
